Faysal Sohail became a venture investor in 2002 after seventeen years of experience as an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. He has led several investments in technology and energy space, including robotics, information security, energy, semiconductors and software.
Before joining Presidio Partners, he helped build three companies in the Valley, each of which experienced either an IPO or M&A exit, including (i) Cadabra Design Automation, which was acquired by Numerical Technologies (NMTC/SNPS); (ii) Silicon Architects , which merged with Synopsys (SNPS); and Actel Corporation (ACTL). Faysal seeks to combine his technology and start-up experience to help entrepreneurs build companies that make a significant impact.
Faysal holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in Computer Engineering where he served on the College of Engineering Advisory Board. Faysal is committed to education and has served on the board of Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) for 10 years, seven as Chairman. Faysal is a guest lecturer at Stanford Graduate School of Business as well as U.C. Berkeley on global entrepreneurship and venture capital. He is also an avid car racing enthusiast, and eagerly frequents the various California raceways and back roads, looking to shave seconds off his lap times.
