Uday Sandhu joined Presidio Partners in 2014 and focuses on investments in technology, energy, and life sciences. Uday serves as a knowledge source in wireless security, Software-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, Gaming-as-a-Service, virtual reality, and eCommerce, as well as innovative capital structures. He also works closely with entrepreneurs through all the steps involved in growing a seed-stage company into a cash-flow positive enterprise. Uday is closely involved with the following private Presidio Partners portfolio companies: AirTight Networks, Beautylish, Hasso Plattner Ventures, IndoUS Ventures, JobVite, MediaSpike (Board Member), Triporati, Untangle, Zaarly, and ZipMark. He also co-manages the Presidio Partners public portfolio, which includes Auspex Pharmaceuticals (ASPX), Ardelyx (ARDX), Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals (TTPH), Codexis (CDXS), and InterMolecular (IMI).
Uday began his career in Cantor Fitzgerald’s technology investment banking practice, followed by Oppenheimer & Co.’s Software, Semiconductors, Digital Media, and Internet investment banking practices, where he advised on M&A, IPO, and follow-on transactions in those industries. He then joined TriplePoint Capital, a $1bn+ venture capital firm. With TriplePoint, he made several seed-stage as well as late stage investments including CircleUp, Shazam, Lytro, Dropcam, and Main Street Hub.
Uday holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley as well as an MBA in Analytical Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. When he is not working with his portfolio companies, Uday loves to talk about the PGA tour, his own golf handicap (which is terrible), German sports cars, and photography.
